On 6 March 2015, the Inauguration Ceremony of EMBA program of Kathmandu Don Bosco College (KDBC) was organized in Hotel Radisson in the presence of reputed educationists, entrepreneurs and members of the civil society. This program was presided by Mr. Umesh Shrestha, Vice Chairman of the College. Secretary of Education Ministry, Mr. Bishwo Prakash Pandit, who inaugurated program, appreciated Kathmandu Don Bosco’s new initiative and its leverage with various businesses. He opined that Nepal has lots of possibilities, which the entrepreneurs of tomorrow need to exploit for the greater benefit of the nation.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Kapil Dev Regmi, Executive Director of Kathmandu Don Bosco, highlighted the unique characteristic of the EMBA course, which brings industry inside the classrooms and takes classrooms to the industries. He emphasized on the strategic partnership of Kathmandu Don Bosco, Little Angels’ College and Xavier Academy, which has opened a new chapter in the business education sector in Nepal.
Representative from FNCCI Ms. Bhawani Rana, Director General of CNI Mr. Megh Nath Neupane, as well as hydropower expert, Mr. Gyanendra Lal Pradhan, appreciated the efforts of Kathmandu Don Bosco and expressed their interest to work with the college.
A paper on ‘EMBA Education and Industry Needs’ was presented by Dr. Biju Thapaliya, the then Dean of Management of Purbanchal University. This paper was commented on by Prof. Dr. Upendra Koirala, reputed academician, and Mr. Pradeep Kumar Shrestha of Pancha Kanya Group of Industries. The discussion was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Pramod Bahadur Shrestha.
In the closing remarks, the Chairman, Mr. Umesh Shrestha, remarked that Nepal needs educated human resources for the prosperity of the country. He further remarked that this college through this new initiative will contribute to the development of human capital in the country.
