The success story of Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket & Departmental Store (BBSM) is indeed
impressive and reflects its significant contribution to the retail sector in Nepal. BBSM’s
journey from a humble grocery store in 1984 to a chain of 26 outlets within and outside the
valley is a testament of its effective management.
Giving employment to 10,000 Nepali citizens is a remarkable achievement, contributing
significantly to the local economy. What makes it even more noteworthy is that 95% of the
employees are women, showcasing commitment to gender and inclusivity.
Kathmandu Don Bosco College is grateful to BBSM for inviting our students to its
warehouse, showing them around and explaining the supply-chain logistics to our students.
