Closer Interaction between Industries and University Education – Initiative of KDBC
On 29thMagh 2072 (12 February 2016), Human Resource Society of Nepal (HRSN) in association with Kathmandu Don Bosco College organized an interaction program in Hotel Annapurna on the topic “INDUSTRY NEED AND UNIVERSITY EDUCATION”. Senior academician Prof. Dr. Satish Kumar Ojha presented a paper on the main theme.
FNCCI and CNI members along with Human Resource Managers of different industries in the country participated in the interaction program. Mr. Suraj Vaidya, past president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) shared his views on the supply and demand of human resources necessary to expedite the economic progress of the county and appreciated the initiative of Kathmandu Don Bosco College in bringing Industry and educational institutions together in a common forum. He opined that FNCCI should work closely with the B-Schools. The interaction program was well appreciated by industrialist, Mr. Hari Bhakta Sharma, Sr. Vice President of CNI. He opined that this kind of program will help industries to work with the colleges produce quality human resource in Nepal.
Prof. Dr. Sriram Bhagut Mathe, Chairperson of Kathmandu Don Bosco College explained in some detail the current education scenario and, within this context, he highlighted the contribution of the private sector in Nepalese education. As a case study, he explained the effort and contribution of Kathmandu Don Bosco College. Similarly, Mr. Kapil Dev Regmi, Executive Director of Kathmandu Don Bosco spoke of the need of bringing industries into the classrooms and transferring classrooms into industries.
Mr. Kumar Joshi, President, HR Society Nepal thanked all the participants especially FNCCI and CNI members, who took the time off to participate in the program. Mr. Madhu Paudel, Member Secretary of HRN,stated that the HR Society was committed to continue such discussions in the future as well.
