Course Objectives
This course intends to acquaint the graduates with the international business environment and enhance their understanding on practical aspects of the international business system.
Course Details
Unit I: Introduction
Trading and investing in international business system, why international business takes place, forms of international business, how to enter into international business.
Unit II: Theories of International Business
Mercantilism, absolute advantage, comparative advantage, H-O Model: factor endowment, some new explanations.
Unit III: International Business Environment
Why international business is different, Forces in the external environment: financial forces, economic and socio-economic forces, socio-cultural forces, legal / regulatory forces, commercial forces, competitive and distributive forces.
Unit IV: Recent Trends in International Business
Recent development sand trends in international trade and foreign direct investment, WTO movements, regional trading blocks.
Unit V: International Marketing Management
Market access conditions and measures, marketing mix and regulatory environment in the markets – product strategy and regulations, pricing strategy and regulations, communication and distribution strategies and regulations in the markets.
