Macro-Economic Analysis ( Credit 3 )
Course objectives
This course intends to provide the depth knowledge of macroeconomic perspectives so as to facilitate macroeconomic decisions in real organizations.
Course Details
Unit I: Macroeconomics – the Study of Growth and Business Cycles
Basic concepts of macroeconomics, measuring economic activity consumption and investment; business cycles and theory of aggregate demand; the multiplier model and commercial banking; central banking and monetary policy.
Unit II: Economic Growth and Macroeconomic Policy
The process of economic growth; the challenge of economic development ; unemployment; aggregate supply ensuring price stability ; economics of open-economy, major schools of macroeconomics policies for growth and stability.
Unit III: International Trade and the World Economy
International trade theories of international trade; exchange rates; protectionism; comparative advantage; country competitiveness; managing the global economy.
