Managerial Communications ( Credit 3 )
This course intends to equip the graduates with necessary skills and competencies in organizational communication so as to improve organizational performance and goodwill.
Unit I: Introduction
Meaning and importance of communication in organizational management; forms of communication; model of communication process; interpersonal communication and its importance in organizational good will; use of non-verbal communication and its importance; issues governing communication process.
Unit II: Business Writing
Fundamentals of writing internal memos, circulations, and reporting; writing short and long and business reports; components of various types of reports; writing for business correspondence, letter of inquiry, responding to inquiry, placement of order, supply of order, writing for making payments, letter of acceptance, rejection, complaints, and responding to complaints; writing for press releases and annual reports.
Unit III: Personal Writing in Organization
Writing resume; Job applications; and various types of personal letters and memos.
Unit IV: Quality Documentation
Report editing; citation and referencing; Lay out, design, and formats; presentation of facts and figures in a formal report; design of prefatory part, main body, and supplementary part of a report.
