Jomsom Muktinath Trip of MBA 2015 Fall Students

A total of 17 Students from 12th Batch of 2015 Fall accompanied by the Program officer travelled to the Lower mustang region of Jomsom and Muktinath on 25 May 2017. This educational tour includes visit to the places like Tatopani, Jomsom, Kagbeni, Muktinath and Pokhara.

It was a great opportunity for students to explore different parts of Nepal, experience the beauty of Himalayas, interact with locals and understand their culture and lives as well appreciate the architectural excellence of our country. Untouched by the urbanization, the natural environment at the altitude of 3800m was a breathtaking experience.

After 5 hours trek from Jomsom, the students were really impressed with the beauty of Dumba Lake (Heart Shaped) its clean and shiny water. Mustang was a great learning experience in terms of tourism industries. Students enjoyed the natural beauty and rituals of taking bath under 108 dhara and took the blessings from Muktinath. Students got many ideas about expanding the entrepreneurship in the remote areas of Nepal and promoting local business such as vegetable farming, cattle farming and local tourism. Students realized that Mustang can be further developed economically and the livelihoods of the people can be upgraded if there are better facilities for tourists. The 5 hour trek from Muktinath to Kagbeni was quite tiring but memorable. Students enjoyed bathing in “Tatopani” which is one of the natural hot springs of Nepal.

In a short span of only five days, students learnt about the way people live in the Himalayas and the differences of urban life in the highly developed cities to rural life in the least developed villages of Nepal. While returning to Kathmandu, student also visited Galeshwor Temple and Kalika Temple in Baglung and enjoyed boating in Pokhara.
