
Orientation Program
KDBC continued its legacy of conducting its two-day Orientation Program at Gokarna Forest Resort. 30 students of 2019 Fall batch participated in the program. The students looked forward to knowledge, exposure, learning & fun; their anticipation was perfectly matched by the overall program. The Program began with some light snacks, and a welcome note by the Program Coordinator. Ms. Samjhana Kharel, BoD then indulged the students into an innovative concept of introducing one another.
This batch was fortunate to get an opportunity to hear words of wisdom from the Chairperson, Prof. Dr. Sriram Bhagut Mathe. It was enlightening as well as enriching session, and was much appreciated. Mr. Badal Pradhan, Principal, then helped students understand the importance of PowerPoint presentation. It has helped the students in understanding a skill that will help them in their professional life.
It was then the students change to display their skills. Each one of them wowed the audience with their unique quality. Some came forth with their musical performance and others performed on songs, displayed great work of art and literature.
The second day began with appetizing breakfast before the fun part of the program. It started with a very interesting autobiographical details by Hon Umesh Shrestha , Vice-Chair . He took the students by surprise with his years’ long journey that took him to the pinnacle of success. He stressed on the fact that entrepreneurship should come out of passion and there are ample opportunities in Nepal which, if identified, can give us plenty in return. Mr. Arvind Shakya, Faculty at KDBC, united the students through fascinating team activities. This was then followed by group mind games, in which students enjoyed the self-exploration and team building acts.
The students then shared their experiences and overall impression of the program. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Prakash Shrestha , CAO of XA and KDBC. He stressed on the essence of socialization and network building in any student’s life. He thanked all the participants and appreciated students’ and their determination in receiving quality learning.
The two-day program was filled with entertainment by the facilitators, Ms. Retina Khadka, Sr. Program Officer and Mr. Nilesh Shrestha, program Officer.
After the indoor session, the students had their share of fun and exposure; they even tried their hands on golf. Some did strike well and putted great.
Overall, the two-day orientation program was a blend of inspirational and memorable events comprised of worthwhile motivational speech, management games, talent show, performances and golfing.
